Coronation Street spoiler: Georgia May Foote’s character to be killed off

Georgia May Foote’s Coronation Street character will be killed off almost three years after she was last on the soap.

Georgia played Katy Armstrong on the ITV soap for five years and was last seen on screen in March 2015.

Now any potential return for Georgia is over as Katy will be killed off next week.

Her death won’t be shown on screen but rather the news will be revealed to her ex-boyfriend Chesney Brown (played by Sam Aston).

A source told The Sun newspaper: “As Katy, Georgia was really popular with Corrie fans and had some big storylines. But bosses have clearly decided that she has no future in the soap, and have ruled out a return by killing her off.

“You might have thought they would show such a well-known character being written out on screen but that wasn’t to be.”

Georgia left Corrie in 2015 to take part in Strictly Come Dancing, saying at the time: “I’d decided the time was right to go before I met with producer Stuart Blackburn to discuss Katy’s future. It was a mutual decision for me to leave, but I wish I’d got in first.”
