Channel 4 has announced a number of new presenters for Food Unwrapped.

Briony May Williams, Andi Oliver and Amanda Byram will join the Food Unwrapped team, starting with December’s Christmas sepcial.

Bake Off star Briony May Williams (The Great British Bake Off), award-winning TV Chef and Broadcaster Andi Oliver (Great British Menu), and presenter and fitness guru Amanda Byram (Total Wipeout) will appear in the new series.

They join the returning presenting team of Jimmy Doherty, Kate Quilton, Matt Tebbutt, and more recently Dr. Helen Lawal.

All seven presenters will also appear in Food Unwrapped: Cracking Christmas Guide which will air on Channel 4 at 8pm Wednesday 18th December.

In the Xmas special, Bake Off’s Briony May Williams will be asking if we can save time by putting veggies straight into the oven without peeling them, while the rest of the team explore even more clever ways to survive the holidays, highlighting some useful hacks and getting to the bottom of some burning Christmas-related questions covering everything from Turkeys and Champagne, to Chocolate sharing tubs and Port.

The Christmas special will be followed by brand new episodes airing in early 2020.

Highlights of the new series include a look into the current craze for sour sweets and what makes them so eye-wateringly hard to eat; a trip to Italy for the final of the Panettone World Cup; a man who hopes to combat climate change by using a Candy Floss machine to create lab-grown meat; and much more to be revealed by the brand new presenting team.

Channel 4, Deputy Head of Features and Formats Sean Doyle said: “I’m proud to welcome three fantastic new faces in the form of Andi, Amanda and Briony to the Food Unwrapped team.

“I’d also like to pay tribute to the hard work of the entire team who have delivered brilliant shows that have had a fantastic run of ratings of late, making Food Unwrapped a key fixture of the channel’s schedule.”

Sandy Watson, Executive Producer, Ricochet said: “We’re delighted to welcome three such fantastic new faces to the Food Unwrapped family.

“Amanda, Andi and Briony share that winning combination of energy, humour and curiosity that’s long been key to the success of the series, and we’re very excited to be working with them.”
