Calum Courtney is one to watch on Britain’s Got Talent after impressive audition

Youngster Calum Courtney proved one to watch on Britain’s Got Talent 2018 tonight.

The 10-year-old pupil from Essex was one of the first acts on this year’s series.

As auditions kicked off in this evening’s episode, Callum performed Michael Jackson’s “Who’s Lovin’ You”.

He said before his audition: “I love singing. I’ve got a really musical family. My nan was in the West End and I thought, if she can do it, I can do it. She’s amazing and I love her.

“If I got four yeses from the judges, I would probably cry and faint.”

After singing, the panel delivered their verdicts.

“What a big song for such a little guy,” declared David Walliams before Calum began to cry on stage.

Calum was then joined by his mum and brother.

“That was one of the biggest reactions we’ve had from anybody, it was fantastic,” Amanda Holden added.

Simon Cowell told him: “You totally controlled the song. This was special and I like you a lot.”

With four yes, Calum sailed through to the next round.

Other acts on tonight’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent included circus performer Sascha Williams who performd a Rola Bola acrobatic act.

We also met NHS Blood and Transplant’s B-Positive Choir which sings Andra Day’s Rise Up’ and DVJ aka Diversity Junior, a dance group guided by Diversity’s Ashley Banjo.

Plus, there was Matt Johnson, who performed an escapology trick, whilst locked and chained inside a tank filled with water.

As always, acts need three or more yeses to make it through to the next round and potentially on to the live shows.

Making up the judging panel this year once more are Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Meanwhile, hosts Ant and Dec will be present for the auditions, watching on from the sidelines with a comforting hug whatever the result.

Britain’s Got Talent 2018 airs Saturday nights on ITV.
