Britain’s Got Talent’s golden buzzer act Jack Goodacre appeared on The Voice Kids last year.
Tonight saw 12-year-old Jack take part in Britain’s Got Talent with 43-year-old Dad, Tim.
On the show, Tim said: “I’ve always wanted to be a dad from an early age… I’ve always sang, my dad was a singer, Jack’s always been around it.”
Jack said: “I’ve performed on stage before, it was an awesome experience. I’ve always wanted to do something with my dad like this. We thought Britain’s Got Talent would be the thing.”
“I’m a little bit scared of Simon Cowell, but at least he has children now so he might feel a bit of sympathy for me.”
In their audition, the father and son sing an original song ‘The Lucky One’s together, which got Simon Cowell hitting the gold buzzer for them.
But it’s not Jack’s first time on TV.
Last year he was seen on The Voice Kids rocking out with Danny Jones.
Jack performed Free falling by John Mayer and had all three coaches on the show turning for his performance.
He then told the coaches of his favourite acts: “I like listening to McFly, I like listening to all of you but mostly rock bands like Guns n Roses and ACDC. I play with my band, I play lead guitar and solos.”
“Right up my street, pal!” Danny reacted, “Let’s jam!”
The pair then performed Sweet Child Of Mind together with The Voice Kids’ band.
Jack made it as far as the semi-final on the show last summer before he was eliminated.
He’s also appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical School of Rock on the West End.
Jack said of the show: “I couldn’t believe they chose me as there were thousands of great musicians at the audition, but now I get to play guitar, sing and act every night to sold out audiences – it’s like a dream!”
In their BGT audition, Simon Cowell told the pair: “I loved that song, it was just magic. It reminded me of me and my boy.
“You two are just fantastic. That was a moment, so pure, so great. Well done you two.”
Amanda Holden described the pair as “amazing” while Alesha Dixon declared: “My far the coolest father and son act we’ve ever had.”
And David Walliams concluded: “I’m a dad and it was wonderful to see this father and son with a very special connection.”
Britain’s Got Talent 2018 auditions continue Saturday nights on ITV.
