Britain’s Got Talent’s Ashleigh Butler opens up on Pudsey’s passing
Britain’s Got Talent’s Ashleigh Butler has opened up about Pudsey the dog’s death.
The first ever animal act to win the show, Pudsey passed away earlier this year.
Ashleigh and Pudsey won Britain’s Got Talent back in 2012 and 2017 was the last year for the adorable pooch’s time in the competitive spotlight.
Back in July, Ashleigh took to Instagram to reveal that Pudsey had tragically died.
“I can’t honestly believe I am writing these words,” she posted online. “My handsome man has gone, and I don’t know what to do without him.
“My heart is broken, and I don’t know how I’m going to get through this. It hurts so much, that my handsome, incredible Pudsey Bear will never be by my side, where he belongs, again.
“We only had 11 years together, but they were the best years ever. He was my one in a billion dog that will never be replaced. I don’t need to write all of his endless accomplishments on here to prove how incredible he was for me.
“Sleep tight my handsome man, I love you lots xxxx”
Pudsey was put to sleep aged 11 after being diagnosed with terminal blood cancer.
Ashleigh is now working with another of her dogs, Sully, but says she’ll never get over Pudsey’s death.
“I always wanted Pudsey to have a retirement so he had chance to be an old man,” she told ITV’s Good Morning Britain this week. “So he would get fat, and eat and sleep and everything.
“For me, everything he had done for not just me but for everyone, and promoting canine freestyle, I think that’s what he deserved.”
She added: “For me, it was the hardest thing he didn’t get that.”
Sully will also be joined by another of Ashleigh’s dogs Eliza when she takes to the stage in Panto this Christmas in Jack and the Beanstalk at High Wycombe.
