Britain’s Got Talent: You have seen latest acts before and here’s where

If some of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent acts seem a little familiar, it turns out you may have seen them before.

Auditions for the new series are currently airing on Saturday nights at 8PM on ITV.

But for a number of the contestants, it’s far from their first time on TV.

One of the acts we met last weekend was comedian Barbara Nice, who even Simon Cowell appeared to recognise.

Barbara is actually a character created by comedy actress Janice Connolly, who previously appeared in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights as Holy Mary.

Her other TV credits include Mrs Bamforth in That Peter Kay Thing, Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere , ITV comedy series Dead Man Weds and two brief appearances in Coronation Street.

Another act who you may have seen before is Akshat Singh.

13-year-old Akshat appeared on BGT this Saturday where he won the golden buzzer from Ant and Dec.

But it was far from his first time on TV – in fact, Akshat has been rocking out on stages across the world.

He’s taken part in the Indian version of Got Talent, Australia’s version of Little Big Shots and appeared on US chat show The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Also on Saturday, West End actor Brian Gilligan took to the stage and was quickly recognised by David Walliams for his role in The Commitments.

Brian, who recently revealed he put singing on hold following a family tragedy, has also appeared in Fiddler on the Roof, Eugenius and Bananaman the Musical.

Meanwhile, daredevil stunt man Jonathan Goodwin has been on TV across the world, even enjoying his own TV series The Incredible Mr. Goodwin on UKTV’s Watch channel.

His other credits include The Jonathan Ross Show and The Next Great Magician.

Plus, in 2016, Jonathan also appeared on Americas Got Talent as part of The Illusionists.

There are of course no rules stopping such acts from auditioning for the judges, and ultimately it’ll be the public who picks the winner.

Britain’s Got Talent 2019 airs Saturday nights on ITV.
