Britain’s Got Talent judges in tears after audition from Manchester bomb victim

Britain’s Got Talent judges were left in tears tonight following an audition from Manchester bomb victim Hollie Booth.

In this evening’s episode, we met RISE, a group of 11 dancers aged between 10 -24 years old.

“We’re doing this for Manchester, to make Manchester proud,” said the group before their audition.

The dancers told how they had been performing for years but had put together a special routine for one of their members.

13-year-old Hollie Booth was injured and lost her aunt in the devastating attack at an Ariana Grande concert last May, which killed 22 and injured over 500.

The teenager appeared on stage in a wheelchair after suffering numerous injuries to her legs in the blast.

The group performed a dance with wheelchairs to Ariana’s hit One Last Time and got all four judges on their feet.

With four yeses, they sailed through to the next round.

David Walliams said: “It was so beautiful and moving it almost didn’t seem real. It’s the most beautiful performance I’ve ever seen.”

Amanda Holden added: “Girls, it’s so important not to be defined by tragedy, to be shaped by it, but never defined by it. It was an amazing audition.”

And Simon Cowell concluded: “To get through what you went through and to come out here and turn a negative into a positive, is actually quite unbelievable.

“What these people did, they’re cowards and the fact you come out on stage and do what you did… You made such a positive statement.. I’m very proud of you. In fact, I salute you.”

Other acts this weekend included ‘silent comic’ Lost Voice Guy, comedy impressionist Andrew Lancaster and Singing Priest Father Ray Kelly.

As always, acts needed three or more yeses to make it through to the next round and potentially on to the live shows.

Making up the judging panel this year once more are Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Meanwhile, hosts Ant and Dec will be present for the auditions, watching on from the sidelines with a comforting hug whatever the result.

Britain’s Got Talent 2018 auditions continue Saturday nights on ITV.
