Britain’s Best Woodworker start date confirmed for new series on Channel 4

The UK’s most talented woodworkers are to be put to the test once again in the third series of Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker.

Mel Giedroyc will return to present as a brand new group of woodworkers are challenged to craft beautiful and ambitious builds to exacting briefs.

In a woodland environment, the contestants will face a series of rigorous challenges designed to push their skills to the brink. The heart of each episode revolves around a thrilling ‘Big Build’ task, where participants must craft impressive and imaginative wooden structures and objects.

The judges – seasoned entrepreneur and woodworking maestro Sophie Sellu and the design scholar Tom Dyckhoff – will put every aspect of their designs, techniques, and abilities under the microscope. As they strive to outdo one another, only one contestant will emerge victorious and claim the ultimate title.

When is Britain’s Best Woodworker back on TV?

The new third series of Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker will start on Sunday, 8 October 2023 at 8PM on Channel 4

A teaser of the opening episode shares: “The new woodworkers’ first challenge is to saw, turn and joint their way to producing a dining table inspired by a country of their choice. The pressure is on to create something strong and beautiful that will impress the judges and keep them safe from elimination.

“They also have the chance of a lifeline, where the winner of the skills challenge is guaranteed survival if they can impress with their wooden greetings card.

“Who will carve out their place in the next round, and who will fail to make the cut?”

Britain’s Best Woodworker first premiered in 2021 while the show had a second outing last autumn.
