Blankety Blank 2020 Christmas special date, time and line up with Bradley WalshWhen is Blankety Blank 2020 on TV? Air date, time channel, celebrities and host
Blankety Blank is set for a new revival on BBC One – here’s when it’s on TV tonight and who’s on the line up.
Blankety Blank has previously been hosted by series regulars Terry Wogan, Les Dawson and Lily Savage.
There was also a previous one-off revival in 2016 on ITV, hosted by David Walliams.
Now the BBC has confirmed a Christmas special, fronted by Bradley Walsh, airing on Christmas Day – Friday 25 December – at 7PM on BBC One.
They tease: “Bradley Walsh hosts as a panel of six celebrities do their absolute best to fill in the missing BLANKS and help win some brilliant prizes for some very lucky contestants. But will the celebrities turn out to be a huge help, or will they just end up being a massive BLANK? Tune in this Christmas to find out!
“The legendary Blankety Blank Cheque Book and Pen is also set to make a welcome return in what promises to be some perfect family viewing this Christmas!”
The line up of the Celebrity panel will feature boxer Amir Khan, presenter Anita Rani, McFly’s Danny Jones, actress Emilia Fox, comedian Jimmy Carr and TV presenter Sue Perkins.

When it comes to taking over the reigns of the iconic show, Bradley said: “I’m not feeling the pressure so much, just the fact that I love bit of nostalgic telly and to follow in the footsteps of Sir Terry Wogan and one of my heroes Les Dawson, having worked on the show as a studio warm-up for Les a few times, it’s a thrill for me.”
He added: “I think the show runs itself. I think alongside the celebrity panel and the contestants, I don’t think you bring your own style, I like to work organically so I’m hoping people like Jimmy Carr and Sue Perkins will bring their style to it as well and we can bounce off each other.
“I’m really looking forward to working with them all again, I’ve worked with them all before but I’m really looking forward to working with the contestants, that’s what I like. I like working with the contestants – it’s great.”
It was previously reported that if the special proved a hit, a full series could follow next year.
Blankety Blank originally aired over 250 episodes between 1979 and 2002.
The aim of the game is for two contestants to compete head to head to match the answers of celebrity panellists on ‘fill in the blank’ statements. The winner goes through to the much-loved Supermatch game.
