The Apprentice 2017 candidates in epic fail as they create TV adverts

Here’s your first look at The Apprentice 2017 this week as the candidates create TV adverts.

It’s a classic challenge for the BBC One show and doesn’t disappoint.

This week the task gets into gear in Essex, where Lord Sugar instructs the candidates to create advertising campaigns for a brand new car.

Each of the teams have two tasks – one half must produce a television advert, the other create a digital billboard advert.

As creativity collides, a confusing car name and a loopy ad location results in a major diversion for one team.

Expecting a classic English village, they arrive in a pretend Norman fort.

“I don’t mean to be funny but we’re scuppered,” the group say as their modern day car sits in a field surrounded by wooden huts, chickens and horse-drawn carts.

The other team set up their ad shoot on a modern housing estate and equip themselves with a drone to film a state of the art promo.

But a lack of direction, a wannabe Steven Spielberg and poor handling leads them off track.

Once the teams wrap up filming, it’s off to the edit suite before showcasing their final 20-second clips.

Both teams pitch their finished campaigns to industry experts, where there are U-turns, bumpy rides, and warning signs ahead.

It’s then back to the boardroom where the results are revealed.

Some candidates get penalised for backseat driving and others are told to belt up and Lord Sugar puts the breaks on for good as he announces – “you’re fired!”

Tune in to find out who is next to hear Lord Sugar’s immortal words ‘You’re Fired!’ on Wednesday 15th November, 9.00PM on BBC One and BBC One HD

Then straight after, Join host Rhod Gilbert on You’re Fired! on BBC Two at 10pm alongside guests Katy Brand – Comedian, Gaby Roslin – TV Presenter and Zaid Al-Zaidy – Advertising Guru for a fresh and unique take on the highlights of The Apprentice as well as the first exclusive interview with the fired candidate.
