Ant and Dec are set to appear in a special 30th anniversary show this year.
The Geordie duo are apparently the focus of a new Channel 5 programme celebrating their 30 years on TV.
The best pals began their careers in 1988, appearing as child actors in children’s television show Byker Grove. They went on to become known for their TV hosting work on shows such as SMTV Live and Pop Idol.
Later, they became household names by fronting shows including Saturday Night Takeaway, I’m A Celebrity and Britain’s Got Talent.
Details of the planned special show haven’t been formally announced, but Peter Andre spilled the beans in his column for New! magazine.
“Last week I filmed a TV segment for Ant and Dec’s 30th anniversary, which was good fun!” he wrote this week.
Peter added: “I’m unsure when it will air, but it was great to take a trip down memory lane and remember the great things I’ve been involved in with the boys over the years.
“Everything from living above them 22 years ago, when they were PJ and Duncan, to appearing in various shows with them.”
Ant and Dec’s 30 years of TV comes at a tough time for the duo, with Dec currently going solo.
He fronted the final episodes of this year’s Takeaway alone and will also host BGT’s live shows without Ant, after he stepped down from TV commitments.
It followed a charge of drink driving which resulted in Ant being handed a driving ban and large fine.
Dec’s decision to go solo was likely agonising for the double act, as they previously vowed they’d never be split up.
In their 2010 autobiography, ‘Ooh! What a Lovely Pair’, Ant wrote: “We made an agreement – whatever happened, we’d be mates forever, and neither one of us would ever be on our own out there.”
