Amanda Abbington has quit Strictly Come Dancing after missing Saturday’s live show.
Actress Amanda Abbington withdrew from this weekend’s live show on medical grounds.
It’s now been confirmed she has permanently withdrawn from the competition.
In a statement, the BBC said: “Amanda Abington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
“The show wishes her all the best for the future.”
On Friday night during spin-off show It Takes Two, host Janette Manrara said: “We have some breaking news; unfortunately, due to medical reasons, Amanda will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend… Amanda, we hope you get well soon, my love, sending you all the best wishes.”
Janette said at the time it was hoped Amanda and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice would make a return to the dancefloor this weekend.
With Amanda now out and following Sunday’s fourth elimination, ten stars now remain on the Strictly Come Dancing line up.
They include tennis star Annabel Croft, radio presenter Eddie Kadi, Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach, TV presenter Angela Scanlon and radio host. soap star Adam Thomas and newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
Joining them are actor Bobby Brazier, theatre star Nigel Harman, actor Layton Williams, reality star turned presenter Zara McDermott and journalist Angela Rippon.
