X Factor’s Grace Davies: ‘I can’t make everyone love me’

X Factor’s Grace Davies has spoken about her experience on The X Factor ahead of the final.

One of the last two acts standing, it hasn’t been an easy few weeks for Grace.

She went from topping the vote the first week to being accused of being a diva the next.

Grace has also been the focus of other negative tabloid reports, but says mentor Sharon Osbourne has helped her deal with the attention.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s live show, Grace said: Yeah people write about you, but that’s not the most interesting thing for me. The most interesting thing for me is getting on that stage and being able to perform to people.

“I can’t make everyone love me. Not everyone is going to take to you and I’ve [always] known that. And I completely respect that. But sometimes, it is nice to just go, ‘Alright love, pipe down!'”

Discussing mentor Sharon Osbourne, Grace told Digital Spy: “Sharon has been incredible because she’s been there, she’s had the press, she’s said things and, whatever, dealt with it.

“She’s been great with me, she said, ‘Babes, people move on in four days’ so it’s just one of those things.

“Everyone who is in the public eye is going to deal with it. It’s part and parcel. But that’s not the main thing for me. The main thing for me is the music and that’s what Sharon said to me. She said, ‘Concentrate on your blooming songs!'”

Grace continued: “I feel like I have a real connection with Sharon. She said to me the other day, ‘I feel like your mum’. She said she’Il talk to you in the same way that she talks to her children.

“I do feel like we have similar personalities and we really do get on. We FaceTime, we message, she’ll text me at like 2am like, ‘You awake? Just fancied a chat!’ I’m like, ‘No Sharon, I’m asleep!’ But she’s just great, and she’s given me such a massive support system.

“She’s helped me to grow as a person. I would love to stay in touch with her.”

The X Factor 2017 airs LIVE on ITV Saturday and Sunday night with the live performances from London’s ExCel centre.
