X Factor’s Ella Henderson’s ‘parting ways’ from Simon Cowell’s Syco label

X Factor’s Ella Henderson has left Simon Cowell’s Syco record label.

Ella appeared on the show in 2012 but made a shock exit in the live shows, eliminated after a sing-off against eventual winner James Arthur.

Despite leaving early, Ella was quickly signed by Simon and enjoyed a big debut album.

Chapter One hit the top spot in 2014 and is a certified platinum seller, while single Ghost also went to Number 1.

However, Ella’s last single was released in 2015 and she’s not put out an album since her debut four years ago now.

In an announcement in The Sun newspaper, a spokesperson for Syco said: “Syco and Ella Henderson are parting company.

“We wish Ella all the best for the future and thank her for her hugely successful contribution over the years.”

Sources said there were numerous delays and problems behind the scenes over Ella’s follow up record.

“A new beginning seemed the best option,” an insider told the tabloid.

They added: “Meetings have taken place to discuss her future . . . and the result was to let her go.”

It’s the latest departure for an X Factor star from Simon’s record company.

Earlier this year saw 5 After Midnight leave while last November, Fleur East left the label.

And sources suggested more artists could be next.

“Every year they take stock and make sure everyone is where they want to be,” an insider said.

They added: “However, this year there have been rumours other artists may be reconsidered, so there are some very nervous people around at the moment.”

X Factor stars still signed to Syco include Little Mix, James Arthur, Rak-Su, Louis Tomlinson and Louisa Johnson.

The label also hosts other musicians including Labrinth, Camila Cabello and new boy band PrettyMuch.
