X Factor’s bootcamp got bitchy tonight as contestants fought over the spotlight.
This evening saw contestants take on the start of two bootcamp challenges, the ‘Wall of Songs’.
All of this year’s successful auditionees race towards a wall containing 140 pieces of paper made up of 35 different songs.
Once the contestants pick their tracks, they meet up with the other three hopefuls with the same song to work on a group performance.
The four acts then sing for the judges who give an immediate yes or no to those they want to put through to the arena auditions.
In one group we met Aidan Martin, Liia, Caroline Widdows and Jodie Woolcott who are put together after all choosing to sing Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson’s Symphony.
The group bickered over who gets to sing which lines with Liia and Jodie in particular disagreeing.
Jodie told cameras: “At the end of the day, it’s a competition, and your friends at bootcamp are your competition. If you want world domination as a popstar, you need to show them who you are as an artist.
“I want to make sure the judges are looking at me and only me.”
And she remarked: “Sharon said in my audition that I need backing dancers and they’re here now, you can see them.”
Liia said: “It’s just so stressful because I’m not 100% confident. I was just getting emotional because this is really important for me. It’s make or break.”
The four piece then hit the stage – with Jodie making it through alongside Aidan while Caroline and Liia were sent home.
Jodie and Liaa go forward through to the arena bootcamp auditions where they’ll sing again to make the six chair challenge.
The X Factor 2017 airs Saturday night at 8PM on ITV and continues Sunday night at 7:30PM.
