The latest X Factor tour concert has been cancelled due to the bad weather.
Tonight’s date in Glasgow has been cancelled – and it appears it will not be rescheduled.
A statement said: “Due to severe adverse weather conditions, tonight’s X Factor live show at the SSE Hydro is cancelled.
“Every effort was made for the show to go ahead but the safety of our visitors is our number one priority. Due to the weather and with advice from relevant authorities the show has been forced to cancel.”
They added: “Ticket holders are advised to contact their point of purchase for a refund.
“On behalf of the promoter, artists and the venue please accept our apologies for any disappointment and inconvenience caused.”
The acts on The X Factor tour are Simon Cowell’s Groups Rak-Su and The CutKelvins and Sharon Osbourne’s top Girl Grace Davies.
Plus Louis Walsh’s top Boy Lloyd Macey and Nicole Scherzinger’s Overs Kevin Davy White and Matt Linnen.
They’re joined by a seventh wild card act from the other finalists, Sean and Conor, who won a public vote.
The group posted to social media revealing they had been stuck for hours in traffic.
Shereen from The Cutkelvin said: “Been on the tour bus for 9 and half hours ?? stopping off soon – this weather ain’t joking around ?”
Grace tweeted today: “We’re absolutely gutted that the venue has had to cancel tonights show in Glasgow due to the weather, but everyone’s safety comes first and that is the main priority. ❤️ We were really looking forward to performing to you all. Please stay safe. ⛄️”
She then added: “ye so it was really windy on the motorway and the roof blew off and we’re cool it’s just a bit cold lol x”
Winners Rak-Su tweeted: “Sorry guys we drove all the way to the border and had to turn around because the venue cancelled… They’ve done it with everyone’s safety in mind though… don’t want anyone getting hurt! Scotland don’t worry we’ll be back at some stage, sometime soon! Stay safe everyone!”
The X Factor tour is due to continue in Sheffield on Friday. As of writing, this performance is still going ahead.
The venue posted today (March 1): “The show is taking place as scheduled just check the Arena web site and social media pages before you travel for any updates.”
