The X Factor judges have started to put together a new girl group.
The X Factor was back tonight and retuned to the arena auditions at The SSE Arena, Wembley, in front of the judges and a 4,000 strong audience.
Those auditioning face the brand new panel made up of Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams, Ayda Williams and Louis Tomlinson.
Two acts who made an impact on the panel were Kezia Povey and Charlotte Lee.
But while both got through, they were put into an as yet unnamed new girl group.
Kezia sang Callum Scott’s You Are The Reason for the panel but her audition was met with lukewarm reviews.
“You’re just a little bit too young” Robbie Williams told her, “I don’t think you have enough experience for the big league. But what I will say,is that you should have the opportunity to hide in public.
“You should be put into a girl band, and be given the opportunity to grow.”
Louis Tomlinson encouraged: “Your voice is incredible. What you can do at 15, you’ve got the hard part. What we’re struggling with is where you’d fit into the modern market.”
Kezia was followed on stage by Charlotte Lee, a 17-year-old student from Doncaster.
She sang P!nk’s What About Us with Robbie telling her: “There’s good news and there’s good-ish news. The good news is, you’ve the personality and voice of someone who should be in the entertainment industry.
“As for the goodish news, I’m going to let Simon Cowell tell you.”
Simon added: “I don’t think right now, your voice is strong enough to be a solo artist. You should be in a group. We will be seeing you again but not as a solo artist.”
Other acts in Saturday’s opening episode included boy band No Labels, made up of Ollie, Jake, Jordan and Ben who cover Justin Timberlake’s Suit and Tie.
Meanwhile, Danny Tetley belted out Jennifer Hudson’s And I’m Telling You while Ross Alexander sang The Thompson Twins’ Doctor Doctor for the panel as the seasoned kicks off.
The X Factor 2018 airs Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV. The series continues Sunday at 8PM.
