Two more acts have been voted off The X Factor 2018 in tonight’s results.
This evening saw another double elimination as two contestants were given the boot live on ITV.
Yesterday, the then remaining fourteen finalists each performed live for the second time this year.
As always, the judges gave their comments before lines opened for viewers to vote for their favourites ahead of tonight’s results.
At the end of the evening, it was Janice Robinson and LMA Choir who left and were voted off The X Factor this week.
First, the act with the fewest votes was immediately eliminated, with host Dermot O’Leary announcing it was Janice who was bottom of the viewer vote. Janice was in the bottom two last weekend and became the second Overs contestant to leave in as many weeks, following Olatunji Yearwood.
Lines then reopened for viewers to continue to vote for their favourite before closing for good. The next two acts with the fewest votes were then revealed as the LMA Choir and Brendan Murray.
They performed again in the sing-off: LMA Choir performed Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come while Brendan sang Radiohead’s High & Dry.
It was then over to judges Simon Cowell, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson to decide which of them stayed and who was next to get the boot.
Unsurprisingly, both Robbie and Louis stood by their acts sending home Brendan and LMA Choir respectively.
Simon sent Brendan home leaving Ayda with the casting vote. She chose to take it to deadlock by sending home LMA Choir.
With the judges’ vote tied, the result went back to the public vote. With the fewest votes from viewers, LMA Choir were eliminated.
The theme for this weekend’s second live show was ‘Guilty Pleasures’ with the acts singing tracks by artists ranging from Cher and Whitney Houston to Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears.
After the double elimination, those left in the competition right now include Louis’ Boys category acts Anthony Russell, Brendan Murray and Dalton Andre Harris. The Overs mentored by Ayda are made up of Danny Tetley and Giovanni Spano.
The Girls led by Simon Cowell are Bella Penfold, Molly Scott, Scarlett Lee, and Shan Ako. Finally, the Groups with Robbie Williams, are duo Acacia and Aaliyah Misunderstood and boy band United Vibe.
Elsewhere in the results, there were guest performances from past X Factor winners Little Mix singing their new single Woman Like Me plus Kylie Minogue.
The X Factor 2018 continues next Saturday, November 3, at 8:35PM on ITV and continues with the third results show at 8:30PM on the Sunday, November 4.
