X Factor 2018 results: United Vibe speak out after their exit when Robbie Williams was away

United Vibe have spoken out after their exit in Sunday’s X Factor results.

Two acts were eliminated in the X Factor 2018 results at the weekend as both Molly Scott and United Vibe got the boot.

United Vibe were automatically sent home after polling the least public votes.

The five piece – made up of Jon Guelas, Jack Tisdale, Blaise Duncan, Elliot Horne and Kieran Harrison – were only put together at the Six Chair Challenge.

Their cover of Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love saw them bow out after three weeks in the competition.

Mentor Robbie Williams wasn’t at the show, having had to skip the results episode due to touring commitments.

“We were gutted he wasn’t there last night. It was really difficult,” the group confessed after their exit on Sunday.

But they told The Sun newspaper: “He called us last night and he wanted to make sure we were alright. He was shocked at the outcome. He said he’s always here for us and when he gets back we will go for a meal and have a hug.

“But he’s had these things booked in for years so everyone knew if he took X Factor on, he would still have to go at this point. We were all prepared for it, it was just a bummer he wasn’t there.”

Meanwhile, the group vowed that they would stay together – and were definitely keeping their name, having previously been told to change it by Simon Cowell.

The boys said defiantly: “We are staying together. We’ve got our first gig at GAY on Saturday which we can’t wait for. We’re keeping our name United Vibe too. We love our fans, they are great. They’ve been sending us marriage proposals already.”

After united Vibe’s elimination, Molly faced Acacia & Aaliyah in the sing-off after receiving the next fewest votes from viewers.

Following the performances the judges decided who to save. Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Williams and guest judge Nile Rodgers – standing in for Robbie – keeping Acacia & Aaliyah.

The X Factor is back Saturday and Sunday with a Movie themed week.
