X Factor 2018 judges ‘at war behind the scenes’ as they compete for victory

Things are said to be heating up behind the scenes of The X Factor 2018.

The new series aired its second live performance show last night and this evening’s results will see two acts sent home.

Judges Simon Cowell, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson are all apparently very keen to win – and it’s led to tension backstage.

Ayda and Robbie are said to be particularly competitive, with both keeping plans for their respective acts top secret despite being husband and wife.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Ayda’s even banned her contestants from speaking to Robbie about the show.

“They will do whatever it takes to win this show. It’s definitely the battle of Mr & Mrs,” an insider said.

Meanwhile, Louis is said to have put money on his own acts and is confident of a return.

“Louis Tomlinson is saying he will double the figure and he will be donating his win to charity,” a source claimed. “The show has never seen this amount of competition between the judges before, they are all set on winning.”

They added: “Who knows what lengths they’ll go to, to make sure their contestants make it to the final?”

Last week saw Olatunji Yearwood and Armstrong Martins from Ayda’s Overs and Louis’ Boys categories respectively.

In tonight’s results the voting lines will freeze and the one act with the fewest votes will be immediately eliminated. The acts with the next two fewest votes will face the sing-off.

Currently left in the competition in Louis’ Boys category are Anthony Russell, Brendan Murray and Dalton Andre Harris while Adya’s Overs are Danny Tetley, Giovanni Spano and Janice Robinson.

As things stand, both Simon and Robbie have all their acts remaining.

Simon is in charge of the Girls this year, currently made up of Bella Penfold, Molly Scott, Scarlett Lee and Shan Ako. Robbie’s Groups right now are duo Acacia and Aaliyah, LMA Choir, duo Misunderstood and boy band United Vibe.

The X Factor 2018 results air tonight at 8PM on ITV with guests Little Mix and Kylie.
