The Woman in White cast and spoilers from BBC One’s new drama

The Woman In White continues tonight on BBC One but who’s on the cast and what’s it all about?

The Woman In White is a bold new adaptation of Wilkie Collins’ psychological thriller, written by Fiona Seres and directed by Carl Tibbetts.

The Woman In White airs Sunday night at 9PM on BBC One.

After Walter Hartright encounters a ghostly woman dressed in all white on a moonlit road, he soon finds himself drawn into a mysterious and disturbing world.

Romance, suspense, and danger combine as secrets come to the fore in Wilkie Collins’ haunting tale of insanity and identity. Viewed by many as the first psychological thriller novel, The Woman In White will take viewers on a chilling ride down the shadowy paths and corridors of English country houses and ultimately into the depths of the Victorian madhouse.

Retaining the creepy atmosphere that has captured the imaginations of the book’s readers for over a century, The Woman In White still has as much to say to audiences today as it did in 1859,

The Woman In White spoilers

In tonight’s fourth episode, Marian (Jessie Buckley) eavesdrops on Sir Percival (Dougray Scott) and Fosco (Riccardo Scamarcio) plotting how they can get their hands on Laura’s (Olivia Vinall) money. It is revealed that Fosco’s wife Madam Fosco (Sonya Cassidy) would also inherit money if Laura were to die.

Marian falls gravely ill and Sir Percival conceals her in the servants’ wing of the house. He tells Laura that Marian has gone to London with Count Fosco and Laura follows.

Meanwhile, Walter (Ben Hardy) returns from Honduras, where he’s been working as an artist, to learn of Laura’s death. But is all as it seems?
