What time do I’m A Celeb stars eat? How this year’s show works

With a camp in Wales, 2021’s I’m A Celebrity works a little bit different than usual.

Lots of fans have been wondering what time the celebrities eat and when they do the trials this year with the show filming in the time-zone as it airs.

When down under, trials take place first thing in the morning Australian time with the celebs enjoying their dinner in the evening as you’d expect.

But in the Welsh camp things are rather different with celebs taking on their trials at around 11PM to midnight.

They then won’t eat until around 2 to 3AM.

Victoria Derbyshire, who appeared in the Welsh camp last year, explained: “Every night is a very, very late night – we didn’t get to bed until three sometimes four in the morning (obviously we didn’t have watches or ‘phones so those times are estimates).

“This is because the trial takes place after Ant and Dec have come into the castle, live, to announce who the public has voted for.”

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “That individual then goes off to do the challenge and often doesn’t arrive back until midnight – 1 o’clock in the morning.

“The food gets delivered sometime after that – which we then had to chop/wash/work out how to cook, before eating at 2.30am-3am.”

It’s the second series in a row to be filmed in Wales as a result of the pandemic.

I’m A Celebrity 2021 continues nightly on ITV and ITV Hub.

Contestants on the I’m A Celebrity line up include songwriter and producer Naughty Boy, Emmerdale star Danny Miller, DJ and TV host Snoochie Shy, broadcaster Louise Minchin, football icon turned pundit David Ginola and Paralympian Kadeena Cox.

Completing the line up is actor Adam Woodyatt, former Strictly judge & choreographer Arlene Phillips, singer & TV personality Frankie Bridge, Corrie actor Simon Gregson, TV host Richard Madeley and Olympian Matty Lee.

The series is due to end with a live final on Sunday, 12 December.
