Watch X Factor’s Nicole Simpson on the show back in 2011

Here’s Nicole Simpson previous appearance on The X Factor back in 2011.

Nicole – who also performs under the name ‘Red’ on YouTube – had performed for Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa and Louis Walsh on the show six years ago.

The then 16-year-old made it to the top 15 girls but didn’t quite make the cut to judges’ houses.

The now 22-year-old musician from Glasgow Scotland returned to the show at the weekend, hoping to go further.

“I’ve been singing my whole life, since I was four years old. My parents always said I could sing before I could talk,” Nicole told cameras.

She added: “My ultimate dream is just to hear my songs on the radio, It’s absolutely everything to me.”

Nicole performed Drake’s Just Hold On for the panel, this time made up of Louis, Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and guest judge Alesha Dixon.

No mention was made of her past, but then it would’ve been down to only Louis to remember her.

After singing, Simon had a lukewarm reaction to Nicole’s performance.

“I’m not jumping out of my chair,” he told her, “You are technically a very good singer, but I’m trying to work out where you sit in this very crowded market with girls.”

Louis commented: “You can really sing, I thought it was really good.”

Alesha Dixon said: “I really like your voice, I thought that was fantastic.”

Nicole Scherzinger quipped: “I thought it was super dope, from one Nic to another, it’s a yes.”

In the end, all four judges gave Nicole a yes but Simon warned: “This was a six, you need to go eleven.”

The X Factor 2017 continues Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV.
