Elsewhere in Sunday’s results show, there was a special music performance from the award-winning Sheridan Smith, singing My Man from Funny Girl.

Plus, of course, there were he results.

At the weekend Strictly Come Dancing went to the movies, and the celebrity dancers and their professional partners gave their best Hollywood-inspired performances, as the fourteen couples each took to the dancefloor to impress the viewers at home – as well as judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood in the studio.

Simon Rimmer and Reverend Richard Coles had to dance again and it was the Reverend who went home.

Speaking about his exit last night, Richard Coles said: “It’s been a joy. Every minute of it I’ve enjoyed, even when Dianne was hissing through her teeth “feet, frame, feet, frame”, it’s been completely joyous. I only forgot to reckon into my strategy that I can’t actually dance!”

When asked by co-host Tess Daly what his highlight had been, Richard said: “So many highlights, I think really it’s coming together as a group of people, fellow celebs and pro dancers. It has just been a really really wonderful experience.

“And also it’s really important that none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for the fantastic crew, wardrobe, hair and make-up, production, the fantastic band and the judges too.”

The remaining thirteen couples will take to the dancefloor again next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on BBC One at 6:45PM.
