The Voice UK: Olly Murs gets flirtatious as blind auditions begin filming

New coach on The Voice UK Olly Murs seems to have settled right in to his spinning chair.

Former X Factor finalist and host Olly is joining the rival singing series as a coach alongside Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson.

Olly said on signing up: “I’m absolutely buzzing about being a coach on The Voice UK and can’t wait to sit in the big red chair alongside will, Jennifer and Tom. I’m excited to mentor new artists and without doubt, I’m in it to WIN!”

This week saw blind auditions begin filming in Manchester, ahead of the show’s return to TV in the New Year.

Speaking from the studio, Olly revealed he had already been getting flirty with some of the acts.

He told DigitalSpy: “I’m just going to be me – I am bit flirtatious and cheeky… To be fair there was a young lady today from Essex she was attractive. We had a laugh.

“This is why the guys at The Voice wanted me to do it. I’m trying to bring my enthusiasm – people know what I’m like. It’s going to be cheeky.”

Despite his playful side, Olly told the website he was “serious about my music” and sharing his experiences of the industry.

“I’m not here to be the fun guy and the naughty school kid. I want to win this and show people my skills,” he said.

The Voice UK will return to TV in January on ITV.
