The makers of The Voice are working on a brand new spin-off show.
After the main series proved a hit, The Voice Kids followed which made its UK debut earlier this year on ITV.
The cut down version of the singing competition invites those aged 7-14 to apply, taking part in blind audition, battle and live final rounds.
Now there’s a new spin-off on its way, this time for older singers.
The Voice Senior will invite OAPs to sing for a panel of coaches, with a minimum age limit for contestants of 65.
Broadcast reports there will be no live show, with the first series featuring two blind auditions, a knockout round and a final.
Maarten Meijs, managing director of programme makers Talpa Media, said: “Given the success of The Voice Kids, which has close to 40 versions, we are excited and hopeful that this will a very good companion,” he said.
The Voice Senior will debut in Holland next year. Whether or not a UK version will follow remains to be seen.
For the time being, the main series of The Voice UK returns to TV screens soon with a new line up of coaches.
Olly Murs joins the show alongside Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and Sir Tom Jones.
The new series is expected to launch on ITV in January.
