Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4 release date and trailer revealed

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt release date Netflix UK

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 4 is on its way but when is it on Netflix?

Series 4 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will premiere on Netflix UK at the end of this month – May 30.

The first six episodes will be made immediately available to binge.

The remainder of the season will come later in the year, after filming was delayed so co-creator Tina Fey could launch her Broadway Mean Girls musical.

They’re set to be the last ever episodes of the series, which is set to wrap up on Netflix after the fourth season.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the episodes will be the last of the show, which first premiered in 2015.

However, there is some good news for Kimmy Schmidt fans with a feature length movie reportedly in the works to conclude the show.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt stars comedian Ellie Kemper in the title role alongside Jane Krakowski, Carole Kane and Tituss Burgess.

The series was originally planned to air on TV and follows Kimmy as she readjusts to life in the modern world after 15 years trapped in an underground cult.

Speaking about the show’s latest third season, available to stream now, Ellie said in a recent interview: “Personally, the whole thing was a blur to me because I wasn’t sleeping very much because I had a baby in July.

“On a personal level, I felt a little out of it the whole time, so when I’m watching the episodes now, I’m like ‘Oh right, we did do that!’ because my memory is gone.”

She added to Gold Derby: “What felt different about Season 3 was that now that we have these longer episodes of 28 minutes, 32 minutes… there’s so much more time that we can devote to all of the characters, to see everyone’s stories get fleshed out even more.”

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has been nominated for 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, including three nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series.

The Season 4 release date for the first half is May 30.
