The MasterChef: The Professionals 2019 continues this weekend with the knockout rounds - who are the contestants competing?

MasterChef: The Professionals started with 48 contestants, competing across four heats.

12 chefs started the week in each heat with a series of challenges leaving just 3 chefs progressing through to the next stage.

The heats have left us with a final line up of 12 contestants who face the Knockout Week from Monday.

When is MasterChef: The Professionals start on TV?

MasterChef: The Professionals currently airs at 8PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on BBC Two.

Tuesday sees Gregg Wallace host the first round of Knockout week.

The chefs face an invention test in which they must not use any modern kitchen gadgets leaving the four weakest performing contestants then go through to a cook-off where two will be eliminated from the competition.

In the next two knockout rounds, the chefs will be split into groups of five for a series of challenges that will leave one chef in each group heading home.

At the end of the week, the top 8 chefs will progress through to the semi-finals where eight will become four for the final where they cook to be crowned MasterChef: The Professionals Champion 2019.
