Poldark series’ finale date confirmed with Bank Holiday double bill

The finale date for Poldark’s last ever episodes has been confirmed.

The fifth and final series of the BBC One drama will conclude in an exciting action-packed double bill this weekend, it’s been announced.

The penultimate episode of the series will air on Sunday 25th August at the earlier than usual time of 8PM.

Poldark’s final ever episode will then air just over 24 hours later on Monday 26th August at 8:30pm.

As usual, you’ll be able to watch on TV or online via the BBC iPlayer.

Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content said: “Over the last four years Poldark has been a runaway success for BBC One and has become a firm favourite with audiences of all ages.

“It’s been wonderful to follow Ross and Demezela’s adventures and the changing fortunes of the Poldark and Warleggan dynasties.

“From the beginning everyone involved in the production has been committed to being faithful to Winston Graham’s brilliant novels, and so this is sadly the last episode of the last series.

“Everyone at the BBC would like to thank fans in Cornwall and around the world who have been so supportive of the show, the incredible cast, the crew, Debbie Horsfield, and the team at Mammoth for bringing us such a special series.”

Poldark series five sees Aidan Turner reprise his part in the titular role of Ross Poldark alongside Eleanor Tomlinson as wife Demelza.

Also on the cast are Jack Farthing as George Warleggan, Luke Norris as Dr Dwight Enys, Gabriella Wilde as Caroline Enys, Ellise Chappell as Morwenna Carne, Harry Richardson as Drake Carne and Tom York as Sam Carne.

Joining for the final run of eight episodes are Vincent Regan as Ross’ old Army Colonel Ned Despard and Kerri McLean as Ned’s wife Kitty, a former slave.

Sofia Oxenham is the trecherous Tess Tregidden, Peter Sullivan is the wealthy merchant, Ralph Hanson whose daughter Cecily, played by Lily Dodsworth-Evans, befriends Geoffrey Charles, played by Freddie Wise.
