UK Eurovision entry 2019
The UK Eurovision entry 2019 was confirmed in February and singer Michael Rice will be representing us in Israel in May.
The UK Eurovision song selection contest this year saw six prospective acts performing for the honour of representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Avi, Israel.
Hosted by Mel Giedroyc and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Måns Zelmerlöw, the selection show aired on BBC Two and saw a viewer vote to decide our entry.
Michael will head to Eurovision with his song Bigger Than Us, written by Laurell Barker, Anna-Klara Folin, John Lundvik and Jonas Thander.
Former X Factor hopeful Michael taught himself to play piano from YouTube videos after his mum bought him a keyboard. Last year, he became the first winner of BBC One's singing show All Together Now.
Michael said about his song: "My version of Bigger Than Us is such an epic, big song with a big key change and harmonies, and I think the lyrics resonate with everyone"
