Little Mix reveal truth about their split from Simon Cowell’s label

Little Mix have cleared up their split from Simon Cowell’s Syco label.

Little Mix – made up of Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards – triumphed on The X Factor seven years ago now.

It was revealed last year that former X Factor winners Little Mix would no longer be working with Simon’s Syco company.

Their new album LM5 released in November was on new label RCA, amid claims of a dispute over lead single Woman Like Me.

Now in a new interview, Jesy ha set the record straight.

She explained to the Guardian: “So this is what happened. We so wanted to write a song like Strip and were so passionate about releasing it as our first single. We’d co-directed the video, we’d done the [naked] photoshoot, so we were excited.

“Obviously when Woman Like Me was put on the table, in our heads Strip was going to be the first single, and [Woman Like Me] didn’t feel exactly like what we’d sing about.”

Jesy went on: “So we went in, tweaked the lyrics, changed the production, and got Nicki [Minaj on it, which was an absolute dream. We didn’t despise it at all. It’s a banger.”

Speaking last year, Simon insisted there was no ‘falling out’ between himself and the girls.

He said: “Well, I can show you all the correspondence between me and the girls over the years, there’s never been an instance when we’ve fallen out.

“As I said in my email to them, I stand by the fact they are the hardest working bunch of girls I’ve ever worked with. They deserve everything they’ve got.”

Meanwhile, the Little Mix ladies have revealed their big aim for 2019 is to make it big in the States.

“That’s our main aim: we really want to crack America. We’re willing to put the work in,” Jesy said.
