Plebs will return for a fourth series tonight - here's who's on the cast and all you need to know.

ITV2’s multi-award winning comedy has been commissioned for a fourth series and went into production last year.

Over a million viewers regularly tuned in across the first three series making it the highest rated British scripted comedy on multichannel.

However was no series in 2017, but Series 4 starts tonight from 10PM on ITV2.

In the first episode, following a catastrophic industrial accident, the boys respond in their own ways: Marcus immediately seeks financial compensation, while Grumio prefers to ‘go to seed’ at home. Then Jason, a cheery out-of-work builder steps into their lives.

Series 3 of Plebs aired last May and saw Tom Rosenthal, Joel Fry and Ryan Sampson all return as the much loved under-achievers, Marcus, Stylax and their feckless slave Grumio in the sitcom set in ancient Rome.

Alongside their regular nemeses, the last series saw the Plebs encounter a legion of new Roman recruits: visiting parents (Samantha Spiro, Danny Webb, Steve Edge), a brazen Vestal Virgin (Michelle Keegan), a doping discus thrower (Ingrid Oliver), a theatrical grande dame (Miriam Margolyes) and an ancient weatherman (David Bamber).

The third series picked up right where the second left off, with the three lowly Plebs still living in a squalid block in the worst part of town, which was presided over by the ruthless Landlady (Maureen Lipman).

They worked dead-end jobs for Rome’s third largest grain supply company, under the direction of their fearsome boss Flavia (Doon Mackichan), and although the Games were in town, they couldn’t get tickets for any event - not even the pig chase.
