As The X Factor 2017 live shows get underway, we count down what we consider to be the best live performances the ITV series has ever seen.
We’ve picked just six performances from the past 13 years, with some iconic contestants and songs.

Leona Lewis’ Summertime
Many have attempted this track on X Factor but Leona’s version still remains one of the best vocal performances that the ITV show has ever seen.
Alexandra Burke’s Listen
Much like Leona, Alexandra Burke gave plenty of great performances including her eventual winner’s track Hallelujah. However it was arguably her duet with Beyonce that won the show for her in what was a very close vote against runners up JLS.
Cher Lloyd’s Stay
This Halloween week performance of Stay by Cher Lloyd was by far her best and one of the stand outs from the 2010 series. It helped the original track shoot back into the charts the week after her performance.
Ruth Lorenzo’s Purple Rain
One of the most epic performances on The X Factor ever and definitely the best ‘Save Me’ song the show has ever seen: Ruth gave it everything and then some as she sung for survival in the bottom two.
Little Mix’s Don’t Let Go
Almost certainly the moment that saw Little Mix become real contenders and set up their journey to the final and to eventual winners, still remaining the only group ever to triumph on the show.
Fleur East’s Uptown Funk
Fleur’s cover of Uptown Funk has been the best live performance for some years and saw her hit Number 1 on iTunes with the track, although it wasn’t quite enough to push her to the win in the final.
