A teenager impressed The Voice Kids 2019 coaches this weekend with his own original song.
This year’s series of The Voice Kids UK sees Will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones all return to the iconic red chairs.
And for the brand new season, they’re joined by brand new coach Jessie J.
One of the acts impressing this weekend was 13-year-old Conor from Northern Ireland took a big risk as he performed original song.
Watch Conor singing his original song on The Voice Kids UK 2019 auditions below…
Conor wrote his first song when he was 9-years-old.
His audition song was called That Girl I Met, written about a girl who he fancied but she kissed another boy in front of him.
“The coaches don’t know it’s an original song so it’s got to be a good,” he said before his audition. “It’s a risk but I hope it pays off.”
And pay off it did, with Conor securing a spin from Danny Jones to join his team for the battle rounds.
“That sounded good man, good playing!” declared Danny.
Will added: “You’re really talented, you sing great, I’m upset I didn’t turn for you… but you’d have gone for Danny anyway! You’re awesome.”
Presented by Emma Willis, The Voice UK Kids is open to young singers between the ages of seven and 14. Acts can apply either as soloists or duos.
Up for grabs for the winner is a £30,000 bursary towards their musical education plus a dream family holiday to Orlando.
The public will decide the winner of The Voice Kids 2019 in a live final later this year.
The Voice Kids will continue next Saturday night on ITV with more blind auditions.
You can watch full episodes online via the ITV Hub.
Those who make it through the blind auditions will go on to compete in the battle rounds later in the series.
