The Voice 2019 RECAP! All of the blind auditions from week five

The Voice UK 2019 auditions

The Voice UK 2019 returned tonight for its fifth round of blind auditions.

Here’s a full recap of all the performances, and who got through on which team.

Global music legends will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and newbie Olly Murs are this year’s coaches and on a quest to uncover the best vocal talent that Britain has to offer. Once more, this year’s winner will scoop a life changing record contract with Polydor Records.

As always, the first stage of the competition is the blind auditions which continued tonight. The contestants must hold their nerve as they sing to the backs of the coaches.

After the first four weeks, Team Jennifer had seven acts while Team Tom and Olly had chosen six contestants. Team Will had five performers of his ten.

Hoping to pick up the best singing talent, if the coaches like what they hear, they hit their buzzer to spin around and select that artist for their line up. If more than one spins then it’s up to the act to pick which team to join.

But if all the coaches fail to turn for an act they lose their right to see them. The act leaves stage immediately and the judges are left forever wondering if they should have hit their buttons.

Here’s how the fifth round of blind auditions went down tonight…

Equip To Overcome

Equip To Overcome are a trio consisting of Gabrielle (20), Yolanda (20) and Shalom (20) from Kent. Their audition song – a cover of ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ by Stormzy – got JHUD, Sir Tom and will.i.am all turning. After a group chat, they chose to join Team Tom.

Eva Campbell

16-year-old school student Eva Campbell from Dublin is one of the youngest acts on this year’s series. In her blind audition tonight she performed ‘Teardrop’ by Massive Attack, winning a spot on Team Olly when he became the only coach to turn for her.

Hoping to to swap making burritos for a life of a recording artist, Khadija performed ‘Underwater Love’ by Smoke City for her blind audition. Will was the only coach to turn, sending Khadija through on his team.

Craig Roystone
