The Keith & Paddy Picture Show has reportedly been dropped by ITV.
The series, which starred Celebrity Juice’s Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness, has aired eleven episodes since first premiering in 2017.
Offering an affectionate and humorous tribute to some of Keith and Paddy’s favourite movies of all time, each episode saw an attempt to recreate an iconic film, with the help of an all-star celebrity cast.
Each show featured a mix of high-end film parodies and behind-the-scenes mock-doc footage following the pair as they endeavour to bring their recreations to life.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, the series was dropped by TV bosses following declining ratings.
“After a lot of discussions it’s been decided the show won’t return,” a source told the tabloid. “It was a fantastic part of ITV’s schedule and created a lot of buzz, because the spoofs were so funny.
“But once ratings started to drop, execs had to make a tough decision to ditch it.”
However insiders teased that Keith and Paddy would continue to work on other projects for the channel.
“They’re both still considered hot properties in the TV world,” the insider explained. “The concept of The Keith & Paddy Show was a good one, so they may get the chance to do spoofs together in the future for other shows.
“Hopefully it won’t be the last we see of them playing dress-up.”
Over the two series, movies to have got the Keith and Paddy treatment included Jaws, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2 and Grease.
Some of the names who featured in cameo roles were Emma Willis, Fearne Cotton, Marvin Humes, Nicole Scherzinger and Stacey Solomon.
Keith & Paddy currently appear in Celebrity Juice on ITV2.
