The stars of The Greatest Dancer show off their own dance moves in a new trailer.
The new series comes from Simon Cowell’s Syco production company together with the makers of The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
However unlike its sister shows, the new programme will air on BBC One, starting this Saturday night (January 5) at 8PM.
The Greatest Dancer will feature a host of talent from across the world of dance from ballet to jazz and hip hop to Bollywood as they give the performances of their lives.
As part of the show, pop superstar, former Girls Aloud member and experienced performer Cheryl, Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison, the Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Broadway legend will become ‘dance captains’.
The captains will be tasked with whittling down the acts that get through the audition stage before picking who they want to mentor and take through to the live shows.
Cheryl said: “The great thing about The Greatest Dancer is that we put the power into the audience’s hands.”
Matthew said: “It is unlike any other show out there.”
Oti said: ” I’m looking for something that is really extraordinary, something that’s going to represent the genre that it’s from and get everybody excited.”
Alesha Dixon and Diversity member Jordan Banjo were confirmed as the presenters previously.
Current Britain’s Go Talent judge Alesha said: “I can’t wait to be a part of The Greatest Dancer and work with Jordan. As a massive fan of dance I’m so excited about the prospect of finding amazing new dance talent.”
Jordan added: “I’m so excited to be a part of The Greatest Dancer. Coming from a talent show myself with Diversity has shown me how much a show like this can change your life, so to be on the other side hosting is going to be an awesome experience.”
The BBC teased: “Expect dramatic auditions, incredible challenges and remarkable live performances as dancers swing, swirl and sashay onto the stage each week.”
