Taskmaster 2019 air date and celebrity contestants

Series 9 of Taskmaster has a confirmed air date and line up of celebrity contestants.

Here’s all you need to know about the new series for 2019.

Greg Davies will be back soon in his role as Taskmaster with faithful underling sidekick, Alex Horne returning to accompany him, equipped with spreadsheets and stopwatches, eager to facilitate his master’s every whim and adjudicate his loose point system to determine a new winner.

Taskmaster 2019 start date

Series 9 of Taskmaster will begin on Wednesday, September 4 on Dave.

Dave is currently available on Sky 155, Freeview 17, BT & TalkTalk 17, Freesat 160.

Episodes will air at 9PM and you’ll also be able to watch and catch up online via UKTV Play.

Taskmaster 2019 contestants

The line up of celebrities competing to be crowned ‘Taskmaster Series 9 Champion’ include Comedian, author, and presenter David Baddiel, comedian Ed Gamble and comedian and writer Jo Brand.

Joining them are comedian and actress Katy Wix and comedian and writer Rose Matafeo.

This quintet of creative contestants face a vast array of simple yet complicated tasks that they must try to perform competently and without making themselves look foolish. Sometimes they will succeed triumphantly, other times they really, really won’t.

And it’s on these latter occasions that their knees will knock as they sit, waiting to endure a verbal whipping from the angry man on the big, gold throne.

Alex Horne will, as usual, lurk creepily in the background of all the task attempts, clutching his tablet and making furtive notes, while the comics try to make sense of challenges ranging from secreting shiny vegetables, to bringing a classic board game to life, to performing a sensational self-serenade.

And, after ten episodes, one of the five will be given full rein to celebrate inappropriately with the replica of Greg’s head as they exult in the grandeur of becoming a Taskmaster Champion.

Together with the new series, a Taskmaster Book is now on sale.

Titled, 200 Extraordinary Tasks for Ordinary People, the Taskmaster Book was met with huge popularity, sold over 60K copies following publication.

Before the new series begins, you can watch all past episodes online via the UKTV Player.
