Take That’s The Band Musical is heading for the West End later this year.
Last year, new BBC One show Let It Shine fronted by Gary Barlow went on the hunt for five guys to play the lead roles in the new stage show.
After seven weeks of singing, it was boy band Five To Five who won Let It Shine in the final back in February of 2017.
The group – made up of Curtis T Johns, AJ Bentley, Yazdan Qafouri, Sario Solomon and Nick Carsberg – topped the public vote in the live final.
They’ve since been hard at work in rehearsals for Take That’s The Band musical, which started a tour this year.
Now the show is transferring to London’s West End for a limited run at the end of 2018.
The show will play 50 performances at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 1st December 2018 to 12th January 2019, with tickets on sale here.
The Band has proved a hit ever since opening in Manchester last September.
In the show, Let It Shine’s winners play the role of band members in the musical, which is based on the songs of Take That – but not directly about the band itself.
Rather, the plot revolves around five girls, who are fans of the group with their roles cast away from TV screens.
The additional original cast included Rachel Lumberg, Faye Christall, Alison Fitzjohn, Emily Joyce, Jayne McKenna, and Rachelle Diedericks.
“We are doing something that has never been done,” Gary said previously. “Our musical has three leads.
“One is The Band, the second leads are the young girls, and the third leads are the older girls. Our guys The Band are never off the stage.”
He added: “I think we have an unbelievable band for this show. If we had gone round the country looking, I don’t think we would have got a better group.”
The show is currently playing in Leeds before continuing to tour the UK throughout Spring and Summer.
It’s current last dates are set for Edinburgh in July.
Tickets are on sale right now from the Band Musical’s website here.
