Anton Du Beke has landed a brand new TV job that’s a world away from Strictly Come Dancing.
The pro dancer is to join the hosting line up of ITV’s This Morning, fronting his own baking segment.
Anton du Bake’s Baking Fails will across four parts on the day time series, which airs from 10:30AM on ITV weekdays.
It turns out that Anton trained as a baker when he was a teenager before moving into dance.
“Baking has always been my other passion. I’m thrilled to be joining This Morning,” he said of his new role.
The Daily Mirror newspaper reports that Anton’s show will see him cooking for his family and working in a bakery as well as helping viewers with their own bakes.
Anton told the tabloid: “Not everyone will be aware of this other side to me, they might just see me as a dancer, but baking has always been my other passion.”
He continued: “I’m thrilled to be joining This Morning for this new series as I’ve always been a big fan of the show, and with my baking background hat on, I’m looking forward to helping viewers with their baking mishaps.
“I’ve got plenty of tips, tricks and advice that will hopefully help anyone struggling in the kitchen with their sweet or savoury treats.”
This Morning’s editor Martin Frizell added to the publication: “Anton is a popular figure for our audience and has a natural, endearing presence on screen in this new series.
“With baking being as popular as it is, I’m sure this could be a winning combination for the show and ITV, and other ideas will also be explored.”
This Morning airs 10:30AM to 12:30PM Monday-Friday on ITV.
The series is typically hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
