Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood warns Alexandra Burke

Despite giving her top marks, Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood has a warning for Alexandra Burke.

One of the favourites to win, Alexandra has scored top marks from the panel so far this series.

On Saturday Alexandra and pro partner Gorka Marquez had the first Argentine Tango of this year’s Strictly, dancing to Mi Confession by Gotan Project.

The performance won a lot of praise from the judges, with Craig raving: “You never cease to amaze me, that was incredible.”

And head judge Shirley Ballas declared: “I felt like I was transported to a nightclub where there was just the two of you – nobody else watching – just you in your own space where you connected with one another. I thought it was superb.”

But Craig has now advised that Alexandra also needs to remember to impress the public as well as the panel.

“She needs to make sure the public is behind her,” Craig told the Radio Times magazine this week.

Giving a review of the remaining celebrities in the latest issue, Craig also had a lot to say on Mollie King.

The Saturdays’ singer has been in the bottom two twice now and was (controversially) saved by Craig against Aston Merrygold last weekend.

But he said: “She just doesn’t have natural ability and that’s hard to overcome. I think she could, but it’ll take double the work of everybody else.”

Branding Mollie “awkward” on the dancefloor, Craig added: “She really needs to pull her socks up because she’s lagging behind.”

The remaining eight couples will take to the dancefloor next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 18th November at 6:45pm with the results show on Sunday 19th November at 7.15pm on BBC One.
