Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones ‘won’t get a celeb partner – but Neil Jones WILL’

Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones will reportedly not get a celebrity partner for this year’s series.

The line up of Strictly professionals on 2019’s line up were confirmed earlier this year.

As was previously announced, Pasha Kovalev is leaving Strictly after eight years. Pasha is the only change to the line up from last year, with no further exits and no new additions.

Making up the Strictly 2019 male pros are AJ Pritchard, Aljaž Škorjanec, Anton Du Beke, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe, Kevin Clifton and Neil Jones.

The women joining them together with Katya are Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Janette Manrara, Karen Clifton Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova and Oti Mabuse.

According to The Sun newspaper, although she will be a part of the group numbers, Katya will not get a celebrity partner.

The tabloid claims the decision was made over last year’s snog drama with Seann Walsh.

“Katya’s gutted. She knows she’s being punished,” a source said.

The insider alleged: “It is frustrating as she has put so much time and effort into the new series.

“But producers were adamant. While they let her stay in the cast they can’t condone her behaviour or all the drama she caused. No one is bigger than the show.”

However it’s rumoured that her husband and fellow pro dancer Neil WILL get a celebrity partner – for the first time.

In an interview with Hello! magazine in March, he admitted: “It would be really nice to get a partner. It would be great, but we don’t know until a lot later. They have to book all the celebs.

“Either way, I’ve always said, I love working with the show. I started off as a choreographer and assistant choreographer. I’m now a pro. If I get a partner, I get a partner. If not, I just love working with everyone.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 will air on BBC One in the autumn.

The celebrity and pro pairings are usually only officially confirmed in the launch episode in September.
