Strictly’s Kevin Clifton replaces Neil Jones as Alex Scott’s pro partner for second week

Kevin Clifton will once again dance with Alex Scott on Strictly Come Dancing tonight.

Alex’s usual pro partner Neil Jones has been advised to continue to rest after an injury forced him out of last Saturday’s episode.

Kevin stepped in to dance with Alex having had only 45 minutes rehearsal before the show went live.

This weekend Kevin will again step in for Neil, the BBC has announced ahead of tonight’s episode.

A spokesperson for the show said: “Neil Jones has been advised to rest again this weekend, so will not be dancing on tomorrow’s show. Kevin Clifton will be dancing with Alex Scott.”

Alex and Kevin will be performing an American Smooth to Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

The news comes after Will Bayley announced he was quitting the show due to an injury.

Will and his partner Janette Manrara were missing from the BBC favourite last Saturday night after he suffered a fall in rehearsals.

Bosses originally granted the Paralympic table tennis player a pass to this weekend week, but yesterday the broadcaster confirmed his withdrawal.

Will Bayley said: “I’m gutted my Strictly journey has had to come to an end. I’ve loved being part of the show, and am so grateful for the phenomenal support we have received.

“I want to say a special thank you to Janette for believing in me, and giving me the confidence to believe in myself.

“The things we achieved, from our couple’s choice dance, through to the lifts in our salsa, will stay with me forever. I’ve had the time of my life.”

Despite calls for Catherine Tyldesley – the latest contestant to be eliminated – to return, the BBC won’t be replacing Will in the line up, instead continuing with the remaining nine couples.

As a result, only three couples will now reach the grand final, for the first time since 2016.

The remaining ten couples will take to the dancefloor this evening when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 2nd November at 7PM on BBC One.

The the next results show is on Sunday 3rd November at 7.15PM.
