Another celebrity has left Strictly Come Dancing 2019 in tonight’s results but who was eliminated?
This weekend the seven remaining couples danced to impress the viewers at home as well as judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.
The panel marked all the routines as usual before the lines opened for the viewers to vote for their favourite after the performances at Blackpool’s iconic Tower Ballroom.
In Sunday night’s results, the marks from the judges for their latest dances were added together and combined with the results of the viewer vote.
Who left Strictly Come Dancing 2019 tonight?
Those in the bottom were Michelle Visage and her partner Giovanni Pernice and Saffron Barker and her partner AJ Pritchard.
Both couples performed their routines again, Michelle and Giovanni performed their Couples Choice (Street Commercial) to Vogue by Madonna and Saffron and AJ performed their Quickstep to Marvellous Party by Beverley Knight in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
The judges then chose who to save and it was a unanimous decision.
It was the first time in the dance off for both and it was Michelle who left Strictly Come Dancing 2019 this week.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 results
Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Saffron and AJ: “I’m having a really difficult time with myself over this. This doesn’t normally happen to me. I normally make a very quick, instant decision. This has been really, really difficult. One couple took all the notes on board and one couple were better. And the couple I’ve decided I would like to save is Saffron and AJ.”
Motsi Mabuse also chose to save Saffron and AJ: “I feel like we saw two brilliant dances. Its so, so tough this week, I have to say. But I’m going to save Saffron and AJ.”
Bruno Tonioli also chose to save Saffron and AJ: “Ahh, it’s so competitive its unbelievable. First I want to congratulate both of you. You both really raised the game tonight – much, much better than Saturday. And it’s very hard to decide but based on what I saw somebody I really thought nailed the dance. Right on the money. Saffron and AJ.”
Although her vote was not required , Head Judge Shirley Ballas said she would have also chosen to save Saffron and AJ.
Speaking about her time on the show, Michelle said: “This whole experience has been amazing. At 51 years old and never danced in my life, I never thought I’d be able to do what I have done and to have such an incredible partner. To be here for my husband and my kids and the entire community, that’s why I did what I did. I am so honoured to be welcomed by my new friends here.”
When asked about Giovanni, Michelle added: “Obviously I couldn’t have done it without him. He has been so amazing, so transformative. Just my rock and my best friend throughout this entire competition.
“He could take it as much as he could dish it, and I needed somebody like that. I’m going to miss seeing him every day. I would never have wanted to do this with anyone else.”
Giovanni said: “You are wonderful. We laugh, we cry, we fight and we argue and we’ve done everything but I’ve loved every single second. I think you are inspirational and we did this dance and wanted to send a message.
“You are a phenomenal lady and I am so proud of everything we’ve done. I’m here to say thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Michelle and Giovanni will appear live on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on the sofa with Rylan Clark-Neal for their first interview live on Monday 18th October from 6.30pm on BBC Two.
The remaining six couples will return to the dancefloor once more next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on BBC One.
