Could Susan Calman be Strictly Come Dancing 2017’s dark horse?
Her celeb partner Kevin Clifton is certainly hopeful!
To date, pro Kevin has got to the final of EVERY Strictly series he’s danced in – but has never won.
Could Susan be the celeb to finally help him lift the glitterball?
An optimistic Kevin told It Takes Two: “Why can’t Susan get to the final? Why not?!”
Susan told host Zoe Ball: “We’re in Strictly to have fun. It’s not about winning the competition, it’s about how fabulous you are when you’re in it. I’ve already apologised to Kevin for what may happen this year.”
Radio and TV host Susan has proved a favourite with viewers, and former Strictly pro James Jordan reckons she could go all the way.
While Susan hasn’t been troubling the top of the leaderboard yet, James told The Sun: “In 2016, we had Ed Balls. This year, we have Susan. After seeing her last dance, I think she’s a contender.
“She’s got that likeability, which on Strictly is very important. It’s not always about the dancing.”
However James reckons it’s Alexandra Burke who is unquestionably the best when it comes to technical dancing.
He said of her latest performance, which scored the first tens of the series: “If that was a proper dance competition, she would have wiped the floor with everyone else.”
This weekend, Susan and pro partner Kevin Clifton will be dancing the Cha Cha to Shout Out To My Ex by Little Mix while Alexandra and pro partner Gorka Marquez will dance the Samba to Shape Of You by Ed Sheeran
Strictly Come Dancing 2017’s live shows continue this Saturday at 6:35PM on BBC One.
