Sharon Osbourne has claimed she turned down a return to The X Factor.
The music manager has been a judge on the series a number of times over the past decade.
Sharon has now suggested she was invited to be a part of this year’s Celebrity series.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Sharon claimed: “One of the producers asked me in May of this year, I was over in London and they asked me. I said, ‘no. I just can’t’.
“I was there when the show was amazing. It was just fantastic and I would like to leave it like that.”
However it’s not been officially confirmed if Sharon was ever offered a role back on the show.
Meanwhile, Sharon added she was shocked by rumours that Louis Walsh would be back, reportedly joining Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell on the panel.
“Can you believe he’s gone back?” she told the tabloid.
As yet ITV have not confirmed official details about this year’s series of The X Factor, including a start date.
However rumoured names for the celebrity line up of contestants include Glee star Kevin McHale, best known for his role as Artie Abrams in the hit US TV series between 2009 and 2015.
More rumoured celebs include a group of rugby players: Sports stars Thom Evans, Ben Foden and Levi Davis, former Love Islanders Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Samira Mighty, ex Strictly Come Dancing pro Brendan Cole and The Chase star Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan.
It’s expected the series will begin later in the autumn following the ongoing Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions spin-off.
