Saffron Barker reveals her Strictly Come Dancing fear

Saffron Barker has opened up about her worries on Strictly Come Dancing.

The social media star is one of fifteen celebrities taking part in this year’s series, which launched on Saturday night.

Partnered with AJ Pritchard, Saffron has started training for the first live show at the end of this month.

Speaking this week, Saffron confessed: “I’m worried about doing anything sexy. Like the rumba, it’s not going to be my thing, I can guarantee that.

“I’m more excited to do something sassy.”

And she revealed: “I was the only person to fall over in the group choreography number. Like flat on my face – it was so embarrassing, I was bright red. So I’m just hoping I don’t redo that.”

“To be honest, I am just trusting AJ and hoping he will get me through it. I hope with time it gets better.”

Appearing at the TV Choice Awards, Saffron went on to share how she had been struggling with dizziness in rehearsals.

“I thought I would pick it up quite quickly but what happens is I get so dizzy,” she said (via DigitalSpy). “I feel like I am going to throw up every minute, so that’s why I don’t think I can pick up the steps. I can’t focus. I don’t know [how I will cope with the dizziness].

Meanwhile, Saffron admitted she felt there was “a lot to live up to” following the success of fellow YouTube vlogger Joe Sugg on last year’s show.

She explained: “His personality shone through. He was also new to the mainstream media and he was an incredible dancer and worked really hard, so hopefully I will follow in his footsteps.”

Other celebs taking part in Strictly this year include CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual, soap star Emma Barton, footballer and sports pundit Alex Scott, radio host Dev Griffin and comedian Chris Ramsey.

They’re joined by actor Kelvin Fletcher who replaces injured Jamie Laing.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 will return for its live shows later this month.

The first live performance airs Saturday, September 21.
