The X Factor 2017 live shows are set to be rather different this year.
It's already been revealed that the current series will end on December 2, a lot earlier than usual.
And Simon Cowell previously confirmed that we'd have fewer weeks of live shows this year.
But - according to reports, at least - we should still have the same amount of performances.
It's been claimed that the traditional Saturday performance night and Sunday results night format has been axed.
Instead, both days will see the contestants perform and face elimination
Although nothing is confirmed yet, a source told The Sun newspaper: “[Simon] wants the show to mix things up – have guest performers on Saturday’s show, kick out acts on both nights of the weekend … it’ll be must-see TV.
“The shows will be tighter, less predictable for viewers and acts will perform across the weekend.
“Everyone’s really excited about the changes – it’s going to be an amazing series.”
Simon previously teased some big changes to the show but admitted it was up to his fellow producers and ITV to make the final decisions on the format.
The music mogul explained: "When you’ve done it for 14 years you can’t keep making the same show every year. I think you have to realise what the contestants are in it for, why do so many people enter?
"I think if you just make the same show each year it becomes boring and predictable.
"So you try and make changes for the better, not everything works but some ideas we’ve got for the live shows are going to be good."
On the decision to reduce the length of the finals, Simon said: "I just think it’s the way things are in all these shows at the moment.
"The early and middle rounds rate well. So, the idea is to do more of the middle shows and less of the live shows.
"We’ll see if it works or not. I think there might be a middle ground."
