The Voice UK 2019 releases ALL FOUR winner’s singles in huge slip-up

Tracks by losing finalists were briefly available to buy on iTunes

The Voice UK 2019 crew made a huge gaffe after its grand finale – by releasing ALL FOUR ‘winner’s singles’ recorded by the finalists.

Before the live show, each of the remaining acts recorded their ‘song of the series’ to be put out immediately in the event of their victory.

Midway through the show, the public eliminated Bethzienna Williams and Jimmy Balito. The top two then got one last chance to win votes by performing their potential debut singles.

Molly Hocking eventually beat Deana Walmsley to be crowned winner, a triumph for Team Olly Murs.

Therefore, Molly’s track – ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ from A Star Is Born – should have been the only one released.

However, a slip-up resulted in all four songs being made available for purchase on Apple’s iTunes Store.

Not only were viewers able to buy Deana’s ‘Autumn Leaves’, the blunder revealed the axed duo’s song choices for the first time.

Bethzienna had picked ‘River’, while Jimmy went with ‘High and Dry’.

Embarrassingly, all of the separately-listed singles proclaimed their artist to be ‘Winner of The Voice 2019’.

Quick-witted fans acted fast to download the losing contestants’ tunes, while others shared screenshots on social media.

The error has since been fixed, correctly leaving Molly’s single as the only one still accessible.

It is unclear exactly how long the others were online. Competing music outlets, such as streaming service Spotify, were not affected by the mishap.

Bosses at The Voice and record label Polydor are yet to comment on the accident.

At publication time, ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ is inside the top ten of the iTunes Singles Chart, at number eight.

Meanwhile, last year’s champion Ruti is number one on the Albums Chart with her ‘Racing Cars’ EP, following her guest performance on the final.
