The Apprentice 2019 start date is nearing with a new trailer revealed this week.

The BBC has shared a first look at the new series as Lord Sugar returns to the boardroom.

A one-minute teaser sees Lord Sugar together with Claude Littner and Karren Brady as the trio are pitched a so-called "Fired Festival"

But an unimpressed Lord Sugar reacts: "This is nonsense. Fired Festival? You are fired!"

Filming for the BBC One reality series took place earlier this year, but when does it start on TV?

Lord Sugar has confirmed that The Apprentice 2019 will start on BBC One on Wednesday, October 2.

Episodes will air at 9PM as usual.

It was Sian Gabbidon who won The Apprentice 2018 in the finale of last year's series.

Lord Sugar picked swimwear brand owner Sian to be his business partner. She received a £250,000 business investment and 50/50 partnership with the multi-millionaire business mogul.

Sian joined a long list of winners including 2017's double champions Sarah Lynn and James White, Alana Spencer, Mark Wright, Dr Leah Totton, Ricky Martin and Thomas Pellereau.

But it's change on BBC Two spin-off show You're Hired as comedian Tom Allen takes over from Rhod Gilbert.

Self-confessed Apprentice super-fan Tom will offer viewers a witty and exciting take on each week’s biggest wins and most disastrous decisions, all in front of a live studio audience. As with previous series You’re Fired will air immediately after The Apprentice on BBC Two.

Tom Allen said: “I’m excited and humbled to be joining this wonderful, much loved show as host.

"I’m looking forward to analysing, satirising and, dare I say, celebrating the many ‘interesting’ choices the candidates make during their Apprentice journey whilst gaining valuable insight into the business world.”

The Apprentice airs on BBC One.
